The American pair of Tri Bourne and John Hyden have been one of the hottest teams at the 2016 FIVB World Tour Finals, but on Sunday, the Brazilian seconds Pedro Solberg/Evandro stopped the momentum and got revenge with a 2-0 win.

The American pair had won a three-setter earlier this week on Wednesday. The difference here is that in that match, the Americans struggled with keeping the ball in the lines. In the teams’ first matchup, the Americans had just 9 errors in 3 sets (including 2 each in the two sets the Americans won). On Sunday morning, the Americans committed 12 errors in just 2 sets.

In spite, the Americans kept the match competitive, especially in the first set where, despite the errors, they kept things close. When it came to the end of each set, though, it wasn’t the American errors, it was the strong hitting by the Brazilians, especially Evandro, that closed out each set.
