The final set of divisions at the 2017 USA Volleyball Open National Championships have commenced, crowning the final 11 titles. This year the competition brought in 464 teams with over 5,000 athletes competing.
Men’s BB
- Dimes (Gateway)
- #SWAG (New England)
- Orlando Strong (Florida)
The Dimes were able to remain undefeated in the tournament with an 8-0 record, handling #SWAG in the finals with a two-set sweep 2-0, (25-20, 25-20).

Men’s B
- Marysville Goodyear (Lakeshore)
- Sorin’ (Hoosier)
- Club Volleyball (Northern California)
Marysville Goodyear went undefeated in the competition, not dropping a single set on their way to victory. The gold medalists took down Sorin’ 2-0, (25-15, 25-23) in the finals to take the win.

Men’s 40s
- Jim Beam 40s (Southern California)
- Milwaukee’s Best/Thunderball (Badger)
- Hustle & Flow 4.0 (Garden Empire)
The Jim Beam 40s rallied back from a fist match loss in the tournament to take the crown over Milwaukee’s Best/Thunderball 2-1, (22-25, 25-16, 15-12).
MVP: Jim Beam 40’s Lloy Ball, a four-time U.S. Olympic Team member, 2008 Olympic Games gold medalist, and was tabbed the MVP of the Men’s 45s Division in the first half of the Open National Championships.
Men’s 50s
- Balboa Bay 50s (Southern California)
- Blaine Labs (Heart of America)
- Killer Tomatoes (Sun Country)
Balboa Bay 50s was able to sweep Blaine Labs 2-0, (25-xx, 25-18) – first set score unknown. The champions went 9-0 in their route to the title, dropping just one set throughout the tournament.
MVP: Balboa Bay 50’s Steve Friedman
Men’s 60s
- Federal Resources (Heart of America)
- Tver Volley Club (Russia)
- Kings Mountain Fog 60 (North Country)
Federal Resources took the tournament over the Russian team of Tver Volley Club but needed the golden set to do so. After winning over Tver Volley Club in the semifinals, they were not able to in the finals rematch, dropping the match 2-0, (25-18, 25-22). In the deciding set, Federal Resources were able to come out victorious with a 25-21 set win.
MVP: Federal Resources’ Rod Wilde, former U.S. Men’s National Team player and coach at the 2000 Olympic Games
Men’s 70s
- Quiksilver Legends 70 (Southern California)
- V&C/Brasil M70+ (Brazil)
- Fog 70s (Canada)
Quiksilver Legends 70 made easy work of V&C/Brasil M70+, as they were able to sweep their opponent 2-0, (25-8, 25-13). Quiksilver only dropped one match throughout the tournament to end with an 8-1 record.
MVP: Quiksilver Legends 70’s Paul Mitchell
Men’s 76s
- MAC Magic 76 (Columbia Empire)
- Outback Steakhouse 76 (Puget Sound)
- Rustys 76 (Columbia Empire)
MAC Magic 76 was able to take down Outback Steakhouse 76 after winning a golden set. In the finals, MAC Magic was able to take down Outback Steakhouse 2-1, (22-25, 25-17, 15-13) but that was not enough, in the deciding set MAC Magic won 25-18.

Women’s BB
- Highlighters 34-1 (Badger)
- Thunder Chicks! (New England)
- Set to Kill (Great Lakes)
Highlighters were able to down Thunder Chicks! in straight sets 2-0, (25-20, 25-22). In the tournament, the champions went 8-0.
MVP: Highlighters 34-1’s Katelyn Vara
Women’s B
- Ice Cold Killas (Iowa)
- Sets in the City (New England)
- Boom (Iowa)
Ice Cold Killas worked their way back through the loser’s bracket to take the title over Sets in the city 2-0, (25-18, 25-21). Coming back through the loser’s bracket, though, meant they needed the golden set to take the victory, which they did easily 25-16.
MVP: Ice Gold Killas’ Molly Steffens
Women’s 55s
- Brasil Sul (Brazil)
- Fog Canada Masters 55s (Canada)
- Care for All Ages (Badger)
The Brazilian squad of Brasil Sul was able to take down Fog Canada Masters 55s 2-0, (27-25, 25-13) in the finals. Brasil Sul went 7-0 in the tournament.

Women’s 65s
- UAI Brasil 65 (Brazil)
- Classy Ladies (Rocky Mountain)
UAI Brasil fought through a tough three-set battle to take the crown over Classy Ladies 2-1, (25-20, 24-26, 15-13).
