The final match of the 2017 Montreux Volley Masters saw Germany and Brazil facing each other, with the Brazilian squad coming out on top in straight sets.
Brazil is ranked #4 in the world, based off the FIVB World Rankings, while Germany sits at #13, rising up to the occasion the tournament to make it through to the final match. They were, however, unable to continue at that high level of play and fell at the helm of the Brazilian side.

Brazil showed dominance across the board in their route to the gold medal over Germany. The Brazilian squad led in kills 39-35, in blocks 14-5 and 39-38 in digs. The strong defense is what kept the South American crew in the match and able to take the victory.
Leading the Brazilian side was Rosamaria Montibeller, who stepped up for the team with 15 points, including 11 kills, one block and three aces. Natalia Pereira added another 12 points with nine kills and three blocks while Adenizia da Silva put down a match-best five blocks.
For Germany, Louisa Lippmann led with 15 points, all on kills with Jennifer Geerties adding another eight points for the team.
