After verbally committing to Arizona State last July, Abby Hansen has de-committed and chosen to attend USC instead. Hansen, who attends Desert Vista High School in Phoenix, Arizona, is a 6’4″ middle blocker. who’s grown 4 inches since her freshman year. That growth in height has coincided with her increase in presence, growing from a part-time player for her high school team as a sophomore to a focal point as a junior.
Season-by-season stats, per MaxPreps:
Sets Played | Kills | Hitting Percentage | Total Blocks | ||
2016-2017 | Junior | 125 | 249 | 0.271 | 94 |
2015-2016 | Sophomore | 17 | 19 | 0.388 | 17 |
Hansen plays her club volleyball for Aspire in Phoenix.
Since her original commitment to Arizona State, the Sun Devils have a new coach, Sanja Tomasevic, and have lost no fewer than 6 players to transfers.
