ACC All-Freshman Cindy Marina Transfers To USC From Duke

Setter Cindy Marina will leave Duke on the east coast to join USC back in her home state of California for the fall of 2017.

In her first year at Duke, Marina earned AVCA All-East Coast Honorable Mention, ACC All-Freshman Team and All-ACC Academic Team honors. Marina was one of three players that played in every set of the season, amassing 11.11 assists per set, the only ACC setter to average more than 11.00 assists per set. In 17 matches, Marina dished out 40 or more assists. She picked up 313 digs for an average of 2.68 per set. Marina led the Blue Devils with 17 double-doubles on the year.

In high school, Marina played at Great Oak High School in Temecula, California where she earned a large list of accolades in her three seasons at the varsity level.

  • Finalist for 2015 PrepVolleyball.com Andi Collins Award (recognizes the best setter in the country)

  • 2014 AAU 16-opn All-America Team
  • 2013 AAU All-American

In addition, Marina played with the Albanian National Team during the European League tournaments in June 2016, while also traveling with the team again this year. In six matches and 27 sets, Marina was able to accumulate 26 points for the Albanian team last year.
