Turkish middle blocker Ali Samet Icmegiz has agreed to terms with a new team as he will head to Torul Genclik in the top Turkish division. Icmegiz was previously with Tokat Belediye Plevnespor, also in the Turkish league.

Icmegiz is listed as an middle blocker who can also play some outside/spiker standing at 6’5″. He’s originally a native of Turkey where he was born in 1989 as he currently is 28 years old.

Last season with Tokat, where Icmegiz was since 2014, it was a rough season that ended with an 11th place finish in the Turkish league. That relegated them down to the second division where they are this season and means that Icmegiz gets to compete back in the higher-end league.

Before his time with Tokat, Icmegiz was with Fenerbahce (2006-2007), Tokat Pleven (2007-2010), Istanbul BBSK (2011-2012), Konak Municipality (2012-2013), Kahramanmaras (2013), and Gumushane Torul (2013-2014).

So far this season, Torul Glenclik is trying to fight off relegation as well as they sit at 0-11 overall and in 12th of the 12 team division.
