Class of 2020 recruit Taryn Ames has verbally committed to the Arizona State beach volleyball program. Therefore Ames would join the program for the spring of 2021 season as a freshman.

In the sand, Ames plays with RPM Sand. Her AVP Rankings page can be seen here and notes that she has earned a plethora of top three finishes. That includes at the AVP First Huntington Beach, where highlights of her play can be seen below via YouTube:

Ames is in her junior season at Desert Vista High School in Phoenix, Arizona. Standing at 5’7″, she played libero for the varsity team indoors. As a sophomore in 2017, she logged 106 digs (1.2 per set) and 27 aces (0.3 per set) according to her MaxPreps profile.

She also played indoors for the East Valley Juniors Volleyball Club 15N1-Tempe Team.

It’s not the first class of 2020 commitment for ASU’s beach team either. Ames will join Ivey Weber as a freshman for the 2021 season.

Arizona State Beach finished the 2018 season at 11-20 overall and 0-6 as a member of the Pac-12.
