Austin Peay’s Ashley Slay Named AVCA National Player of the Week

Junior middle blocker Ashley Slay from Division I Austin Peay State University was named the AVCA National Player of the Week for the 7th week of the 2016 NCAA season.

In her 2 games last week, she recorded 37 kills (4.62/set) and a .361 hitting percentage in wins against Eastern Illinois and Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville (SIUE).

That included a whopping 22 in a 5-setter against SIUE – her new career high. She also added 11 digs, 2 service aces, and 5 blocks as part of her second double-double of the season.

Austin Peay currently is in a three-way tie for first atop the Ohio Valley Conference standings.
