Two former Bulldogs are no longer listed on the Butler volleyball roster for 2018 in Bailey Foy and Rachel Schultz. Foy was a 5’11” freshman middle blocker while Schultz was a 5’3″ junior defensive specialist/libero last season.

It is unknown whether the pair are medically retiring, transferring, ending their volleyball careers or something else at this time. Regardless, it seems that their time at Butler has come to an end.

A native of Reno, Texas, Foy appeared in just 19 sets and eight matches, recording 16 kills (.316), 13 blocks, three digs and two aces as a true freshman in 2017. She was previously a star prep player at North Lamar High School.

Schultz, originally from Stewardson, Illinois, saw 52 sets of action over 21 matches and logged 77 digs, 14 assists and three aces as a junior in 2017. It was her first year with Butler after transferring in from Lake Land College (NJCAA).

Butler went 23-8 overall in 2017, including a 13-5 mark in the Big East but just missed out on the NCAA Tournament. With the loss of the two players, the Bulldogs are left with one libero/defensive specialist and four middle blockers returning for 2018.
