Familiar faces were named to the Big 12 weekly honors as Brooke Kanas (Texas Tech) and Shelly Fanning (Baylor) were selected as honorees for second and third time this season, respectively, while Brianna Kadiku (Oklahoma) earned her first.

Behind a perfect 2-0 weekend, BU’s Fanning (Offensive Player of the Week) recorded an impressive .692 hitting clip during the Bears’ home sweep of KU. This was the fifth time this season that any student-athlete has broken the .600 mark and the second-best percentage overall, behind her own .741 efficiency earlier in the season. She totaled 29 kills on the week on 51 attempts with only three errors.

Kadiku, Defensive Player of the Week, stood tall at the net as she registered a career-high 10 blocks against K-State to lead OU to a program best 19 blocks in a four-set match. On the week, she tallied a league best in blocks (15) and in blocks/set (2.14) through seven sets.

Two-time Rookie of the Week honoree Kanas led all Big 12 freshmen in kills/set (4.43) and hitting percentage (.414) for the week and ranked second overall in both categories. Against TCU, she capped off a career-high 13 kills at a .478 clip with five blocks.

All-time, Fanning has been named to five awards while Kanas has two.
