NEWPORT NEWS, Va.—Dayton senior Lauren Bruns was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, while VCU junior Jasmin Sneed was named Defensive Player of the Week. La Salle freshman Elizabeth Osborn was selected as the league’s Rookie of the Week. All awards were for matches played Sept. 3-9.
Bruns was named to the All-Tournament team at the Pitt Panther Invitational over the weekend after averaging 4.56 kills per set and 5.00 points per set. The outside hitter from Versailes, Ohio, led all attackers with 26 kills in a five-set loss to No. 12 Washington. She recorded double-digit kills in all four matches and had an attack percentage of .339 for the week.

Sneed averaged 1.43 blocks per set over four matches last week as the Rams recorded wins in three of their four matches last week. The middle blocker from San Antonio, Texas, also hit. 372 for the week and averaged 2.36 points per set along with 1.43 kills.

Osborn averaged a double-double over three matches at the La Salle Invitational, totaling 34 kills (3.09 per set) and 40 digs (3.64 per set), en route to being named to the All-Tournament team. The outside hitter from Portland, Ore., recorded double-digit digs in all three matches and had a standout performance of 18 kills and 16 digs in a five-set win over Rider.
