Butler’s Lilly & Ravenell Pick Up Big East Weekly Honors

Butler’s Bri Lilly garners her first-ever Big East Offensive Player of the Week honor as she helped the squad to victories over Marquette and DePaul. Also being honored this week are Butler’s Natalie Ravenell and Creighton’s Marysa Wilkinson.

Offensive Player of the Week

Bri Lilly – Butler – junior

Lilly posted 3.5 kills and 1.25 blocks per set as she helped guide Butler to wins over Marquette and DePaul. In all, Lilly recorded 28 kills including 17 kills and five blocks in the team’s five-set win over Marquette. Overall, Lilly hit for .640 on the week, leading the Big East.

Defensive Player of the Week

Marysa Wilkinson – Creighton – senior

Wilkinson averaged 1.57 blocks per set in the team’s win over St. John’s and Seton Hall. She also added in 2.43 kills per set and a .341 hitting percentage. Wilkinson’s performance left their opponents with low numbers including a small .110 hitting percentage, 9.71 kills allowed, 8.86 assist and .43 aces per set allowed.

Freshman of the Week

Natalie Ravenell – Butler – freshman

Ravenell posted an average of 2.00 kills and 3.25 digs per set to help Butler to an unbeaten weekend. Ravenell recorded a double-double of 12 kils and 12 digs against Marquette for her fifth double-double of the season.
