Originally from Albuquerque, Carly Beddingfield is back with her hometown school New Mexico after two years with Long Beach State.

A 6’3″ outside hitter, Beddingfield is approaching her junior season and her first with the New Mexico indoor squad. After only playing indoor with Long Beach State for two years, she transferred to New Mexico for the beach season last semester.

“I really enjoyed my experience (at Long Beach State),” Beddingfield told the Albuquerque Journal. “But I kind of missed Albuquerque. I grew up looking up to UNM’s program, so once I started considering a transfer I felt like being a Lobo was the right choice.”

Beddingfield was a three-time All-State selection in her high school days in the land of enchantment. She also won the 2A State Title in 2012. Following her prep career in New Mexico, Beddingfield headed west to Long Beach State where she started 22 matches as a freshman. She finished fifth on the team in kills (192) and sixth in blocks (35), including a career-high 13 kills against UCLA early in the year. As a sophomore in 2016, Beddingfield’s playing time went down a notch as she saw action in only 10 matches and 14 sets.

New Mexico was 16-16 last season and will look for Beddingfield to star in her first year. She’s already off to a strong start as she was selected to the Moutain West All-Star Women’s Volleyball Team that will compete in Europe in July.
