Casalmaggiore Stays Atop The Italian Serie A1 Women’s League

In the Italian Serie A1 Women’s league, Casalmaggiore is leading the pack with a 10-1 overall record, thus far in the league.

In their last match, the league leaders faced Montichiari in a five set battle by scores of 1-25, 25-14, 20-25, 25-12, 15-12. Casalmaggiore’s only loss of the season has come to Busto Arsizio (7-4) back in November in a five set contention. Last season’s champion was Conegliano (9-2) who is just one match behind, looking to come back to repeat their championship.

The next match comes on January 14, 2017 featuring Firenze (4-7) vs. Bergamo (8-3).

Remaining on top of the men’s Serie A1 League is Lube Civitanova with a 15-2 record. Close behind them is Trentino with a 14-3 record.

In Lube’s last match they swept Sora (4-13) by scores of 25-22, 25-19, 25-17. Lube has lost two matches this season, one coming to Modena in five and the other to second-place in the league Trentino in four.

Upcoming in the men’s league, is a match between Lube and Milano on January 6, 2017.
