Week one of the Polish Women’s Volleyball Leauge has concluded with just one match being completed in a sweep as Chemik Police downing POLI Budowlani Torun 3-0. The remainder of the matches took either four or five sets to complete, with many of the winning teams starting off slow and having to recover late.
Chemik Police have won the past four Polish Women’s League titles and will look to defend that title this season. Last season they finished the year with a 23-3 record ahead of Impel Wroclaw who posted a 21-5 record. Budowlani Lodz recorded a 22-4 record but came in third in points behind Wroclaw.

For Chemik Police, Natalia Medrzyk led the team with 16 points while Katarzyna Zaroslinska posted another 14 in the win. The first two sets of the match were a close battle for each team before Chemik Police came out and dominated POLI 25-11 in the third.
Wroclaw took their match over ENEA PTPS Saw in four sets with Julia Szczurowska leading the way with 16 points followed by Tamara Galusha‘s 14. Wroclaw was one of five teams that dropped their first set of the match on the way to victory.
