Class of 2018 recruit Rachel Rosequist has committed to the University of Tampa beach volleyball team for the 2019 season. A 5’6″ native of Liberty Township, Ohio, Rosequist is set to join Tampa in the fall of 2018 to prepare for the spring season.
A junior at Lakota East High School, Rosequist is a setter, right side and defensive specialist for the indoor team. That gives her versatility for the beach, where she would likely slot into a defensive and passing role as opposed to playing at the net.
On the beach, Rosequist plays with her sister, Valerie for the Ohio Valley Beach Volleyball Club. In 2016 she earned top 10 finishes at the Southern Sand Volleyball Apex (fifth) and the Southern Sand Volleyball Tavares (ninth). Then, in 2017 she earned a pair more of top 10 finishes at the USA Volleyball Junior Beach Tour (ninth) and the Ohio Valley Region Cincinnati (third).
University of Tampa is going through the process of adding a beach volleyball team with the 2018 season approaching as its first. That makes Rosequist one of the first handful of recruits heading to the program.
