Class of 2018 recruit Cody Johnson has committed to the Fort Wayne men’s volleyball program for the 2019 season. Johnson is a 6’7″ middle blocker from southern California.

A senior at Vista Murrieta High School, Johnson owns an 8’5″ standing reach and 11’0″ approach reach.

Johnson is seen by some as a top 10-20 middle blocker recruit in the country. He plays with San Diego/Seaside Volleyball Club and the 18-Black team, where he was recently named the December player of the month.

Fort Wayne is in the midst of a 9-2 season in which they just started up play in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA). They’ve jumped onto the map and are ranked 13th in the VolleyMob Top 20 Power Rankings and 14th in the AVCA Coaches Poll.

Currently the Mastodons have three middle blockers on their 2018 roster – a freshman, sophomore and junior. That means all are on pace to be back in the fold at the position to join Johnson come 2019.
