Class of 2019 middle blocker Michael Sack has committed the Lewis University men’s volleyball program. Sack will join the school for the fall of 2019 to begin his freshman year with his first season beginning with the Flyers in 2020.
Sack is a senior this school year at St. Laurence High School in Burbank, Illinois. Sack has been a starter for the varsity team since his freshman year and was named Chicago Catholic League All-Conference in each of his seasons thus far.
Additionally, he also was part of the USA Volleyball Men’s Junior A1 Training Team this past summer. On the club side of things, Sack plays with Chicago Volleyball Club (CVC).
Standing at 6’8″, Sack owns an 8’9″ standing reach, an 11’1″ block touch and an 11’8″ approach jump.
There are three other class of 2019 commitments for Lewis that have been registered in the VolleyMob Recruiting Database as well. Joining Sack for the 2020 season as freshmen are set to be outside hitter Jackson Hickman, pin Jared Phelan and setter Kevin Kauling.
Lewis finished the 2018 season at 19-11 overall and 9-5 as a member of the MIVA where they made the league’s tournament semifinals and wound up ranked 8th in the final VolleyMob Men’s Top 20 Power Rankings. They also came in at #6 in the Way-Too-Early 2019 Men’s Top 20.
