Class of 2020 outside hitter Rilee Sherman has verbally committed to the U.S. Naval Academy and the Navy women’s volleyball program.
Sherman is a junior at Steele High School in Cibolo, Texas, where she helped the team to a 25-16 record this past season that just finished up. In total for the year individually, she logged 366 kills (3.3 per set) on a .202 hitting percentage, 275 digs (2.5 per set), 54 blocks (0.5 per set) and 39 aces (0.4 per set).
On the club side of things, Sherman also plays with Alamo Volleyball Association and the Alamo 17 Premier team. Highlights of her play at the Lone Star Regionals can be seen below via YouTube:
Standing at 5’11”, Sherman owns a 28 inch vertical and a 9’6″ approach jump with a 9’1″ block touch. She also has a 7’5″ standing reach.
Navy is 18-7 so far in 2018, including a 10-2 record as a member of the Patriot League – putting them in second for the time being. Last season they went 23-8 and 12-4 in the Patriot.
