Defensive specialist Jade Humphrey is taking her skills to Southern Illinois this fall. The 5-7 senior from McCutcheon High School in Lafayette, Indiana, announced her commitment to the Salukis Thursday.

Humphrey pulled up 1,189 career digs, averaging 3.4 per set as a prepster. The defensive specialist/outside hitter posted 3.4 digs and 2.2 kills per set and 42 aces as a senior despite missing part of the year with a broken ankle. She also made good on 94 percent of her serve reception chances.
As a junior, Humphrey added 3.5 digs and 2.2 kills per set to go with 32 aces and 92 percent efficiency on serve receive. Her sophomore season brought 4.4 digs per set and 38 aces. As a freshman, Humphrey managed 2.2 digs per set, while helping McCutcheon to the sectional title.
Humphrey plays for the Academy Volleyball Club’s 18 Elite Rage team.
