Edmond, Munlyn, Lilley, Robinson are SEC’s Top Players of Week 2

Offensive Player of the Week

Leah Edmond, Kentucky

Edmond was named the MVP of the Bluegrass Battle after posting 5.33 points, 4.92 kills and 1.92 digs per set along with a .339 hitting percentage over three wins for the Wildcats. It was the sixth Player of the Week honor of her career and 14th SEC weekly accolade for the junior outside hitter.

Defensive Player of the Week

Alyssa Munlyn, Missouri

Munlyn anchored the Tigers’ defense at the Puerto Rico Invitational, averaging 1.83 blocks per set over three wins. In the five-set win over Miami (Fla.), the senior became Missouri’s all-time career leader in block assists. This is Munlyn’s sixth career SEC defensive nod and 11th overall.

Setter of the Week

Madison Lilley, Kentucky

Lilley earned a spot on the Bluegrass Battle All-Tournament Team as she helped guide the Wildcats to their best hitting clip of the season (.314) and averaged 12.25 assists per set. The sophomore garnered her fifth Setter of the Week nod and the eighth conference honor of her career.

Freshman of the Week

Deja Robinson, Mississippi State

Robinson was named to the Appalachian State All-Tournament Team as she registered 4.08 points and 3.23 kills per set as well as a .443 hitting percentage. The middle blocker posted a career-high 20 kills against Davidson. Robinson is the first Bulldogs to be tabbed SEC Freshman of the Week since Kimmy Gardiner in 2013.
