Emily Hardesty is a 6-3 senior at Texas A&M University, originally from Plano, Texas. She began playing volleyball at the young age of 12, aspiring to play volleyball or pursue art.

From the time Hardesty was old enough to pick up a pencil and draw she was. When having to decide in middle school the path of her fine arts, of instrumental or art, she chose art.

Hardesty hopes to pursue illustrating or drawing for children’s books after college.

The links between art and volleyball for her are dedication and time management. You have to remain dedicated to finish a work of art and to your sport. Managing all the things you have to do with volleyball is time consuming and sometimes hard for athletes to manage. Hardesty has used the lessons from volleyball to her art work, where you have to manage your time to finish a piece of art on time.
