This week in collegiate beach volleyball, there is a large amount of matches taking place – with tons of top-15 action.
The event of the weekend, featuring five top-15 teams is the FIU Surf and Turf Invitational this Friday and Saturday. #3 UCLA tops the field, with #4 Florida State rounding out the top-five in the invitational. The two are set to face each other on the second day of competition (Saturday), with UCLA having already taken down the Seminoles earlier this season. #12 Arizona State, #14 Florida Atlantic and #15 FIU – along with Tulane and New Orleans will take to the sand of Lummus Park Beach Courts in Miami, Florida.
The Big West Challenge will feature five Big West competitors, with #5 Hawaii and #6 Long Beach State leading the pack. Hawaii will also play a separate match to #2 Pepperdine on Wednesday.
#7 LSU looks to continue forward on their best season in program history at the GSU’s Diggin’ Dual. The Tigers are set to face #10 Georgia State, Jacksonville State, UAB and Austin Peay.
#1 USC will take on four un-ranked opponents this week in California, St. Mary’s (Cal), San Jose State and San Francisco where they look to continue their 44 match win streak.
