GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 11 Florida Gators finish up the preseason portion of their schedule with the Honda of Gainesville Gators Invitational.
Florida, along with Jacksonville, FIU and Army West Point, will compete in the two-day invitational before conference play begins.
On Friday at noon, the Gators face the Jacksonville Dolphins and follow that up with a 7 p.m. match against the FIU Panthers.
UF holds the 18-0 lead over Jacksonville, with the last match coming on Sept. 16, 2016 in Gainesville – Florida took that match 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-20). The Gators also played the 6-0 advantage over the Panthers, with the last match being a 3-0 win in 2012.
Florida closes out the Invitational against Army West Point on 2 p.m. on Saturday. This will be the first meeting between the Gators and the Black Knights in program history.
All three matches will be streamed on the SEC Network +, while ESPN Gainesville 98.1 FM/850 AM will feature radio broadcasts during all three matches, with longtime play-by-play man Tom Collett and Josh Crow on the call.
