A two-time All-Mountain West Conference performer and former Colorado State middle blocker Alexandra Poletto is transferring to USC Beach for a final semester of collegiate eligibility. A senior this past season, Poletto will be immediately eligible as a grad transfer for the upcoming season in the sand.

Poletto will try to keep the good streak going at USC, who have been the dominant team in beach volleyball of late, winning last year’s National Championship.

A 6’3″ native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Poletto immediately made an impact with Colorado State with the third-best block total by a freshman in school history. She again led the team in blocks per set (1.33) as a sophomore and junior (1.27).

Beyond her defense, Poletto averaged 2.17 kills per set during her time at Colorado State while hitting .348. The combination earned her All-MWC honors as both a sophomore and junior. All three years saw NCAA Tournament appearances too.

Unfortunately for Poletto though, she suffered an injury as a senior and appeared in just 11 matches with four starts this past season.

In terms of beach experience, Poletto actually started playing volleyball in the sand first. She even participated in the 2015 NORCECA over the summer.

USC is coming off a season in which they went 38-1 and won the National Championship over Pepperdine. It was their third straight time reaching the pinnacle, which they will look to add to this year with Poletto now in the fold.
