French club Beziers has just announced in its official website the signing of former University of San Francisco (beach and indoors) standout Malina Terrell to its roster. She is transferring out of Finland, where she played her last two seasons. The American has also had stints in Germany, Puerto Rico, and Denmark.
Terrell will have the difficult task of replacing one of the most successful American players to ever suit up for Beziers, Krystal Rivers, who last year was the French League’s regular season and playoffs MVP as well as its highest scorer.
Beziers sports director, Didier Huc, spoke of the transfer:
“Malina is a player I noticed when scouting other playes from the Orpo club in Finland. She is changing positions on the court and coming out nicely. Malina is a fairly explosive player, who finished last season as her league’s second best scorer. She is also a very powerful server, with over 60 aces last two seasons. We think she will be able to reproduce this kind of performance with us in France.”
