Dominican national Gina Mambru has transferred to the Indonesian side Jakarta Pertamina Energi for the remainder of the 2016-2017 season. Mambru has been on a break since departing Italian side Bolzano at the end of last season.

She joins a club that won the Indonesian Proliga in 2012 and 2013.

Mambru, an opposite, is not overly-imposing in height at just 182cm (5’11”), but does have impressive vertical leap to hit at 330cm (130in.). That ties her for the heighest official list spike on the Dominican team, in spite of being several inches shorter than the likes of 201cm (6’7″) Brayelin Martinez and others on the Dominican team.

Mambru has been on the Senior National Team of the Dominican Republic since 2008, when she was 22 years old. That includes a bronze medal at the 2015 Pan American Games, a 2009 NORCECA Championship, and Pan American gold in 2010, 2014 and 2016.

According to Indonesia site Bola, she becomes the highest-paid foreign player in the Indonesian league with the signing. She is rumored to be receiving a salary of 800 millioin Indonesian Rupiah, or $60,000 USD, for the year.
