Hannah Tapp Signs Pro Contract With SSC Palmberg Schwerin

Following in suit of her twin sister, Hannah Tapp signed a pro contract with SSC Palmberg Schwerin this month.

Tapp is going the squad as a middle blocker, set the support Lauren Barfield, Marie Schölzel and Sabrina Krause. SSC-star player Anja Brandt has not been on the court since the end of November due to health problems.

“We are delighted that we were able to win another positive character with Hannah. She will stay with us until the end of the season,” said SSC CEO Andreas Burkard.

Tapp played with Minnesota for her collegiate career, helping the Gophers reach the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament in 2016. She graduated from the university in December with a degree in marketing.

During her final season with Minnesota, Tapp earned a slew of awards including – AVCA Second Team All-American, AVCA North Region selection, Academic All-Big Ten and Academic All-District, Senior CLASS Award top 10 finalist, All-Big Ten selection two years in a row. During her senior campaign, she ranked third on the team with 328 kills and had 2.67 kills per set.

Tapp has been nominated twice for the USA Volleyball Collegiate National Team for competitions in China. Her twin sister, Paige Tapp, earlier signed a professional contract in Puerto Rico.

Tapp has already begun playing with the team, at least to finish out the season with the squad.
