BOSTON – The second official week of the 2018 #AEVB season resulted in a 2-1 week for Hartford, which included their first win of the season. UAlbany, UMass Lowell, UMBC and Stony Brook also picked up a win over the weekend.
Here are the conference’s weekly award winners:
Player of the Week
Jenna Bridges, Hartford – Jr., MB, Exeter, R.I.
- Averaged 3.36 kills per set in three matches over the weekend.
- Hit .346 leading Hartford in kills (37) and blocks (15).
- Earned All-Tournament Team honors.
- This is Bridges’ first career #AEVB Player of the Week award and becomes the first Hartford volleyball player to earn award since Nov. 9, 2015.

Setter of the Week
LeAnne Sakowicz, Stony Brook – Jr., Setter, Wauconda, Ill.
- Tallied 103 assists in three matches over the weekend at the Akron Invitational.
- Averaged 10.21 assists per set and 2.14 digs per set while recording a .320 hitting %
- Stony Brook hit .215 for the week.
- This is Sakowicz’s fourth career Setter of the Week honor and second straight this season.

Defensive Specialist of the Week
Emily Tanski, New Hampshire – Jr., Defensive Specialist, Plymouth, MI.
- Recorded 74 digs for an average of 6.17 per set.
- Set a match high 26 digs to help limit UConn to a .164 hitting %
- Earned a spot on the UConn Challenge All-Tournament Team.
- This is Tanski’s second career #AEVB Defensive Specialist of the Week honor and second straight this season.
Rookie of the Week
Maddie Wiedenfeld, New Hampshire – Fr., MB., Omaha, NE.
- Led UNH in points (46), kills (39) and blocks (13).
- Averaged 3.25 kills per set and 1.08 blocks per set.
- Hit .333 in Saturday’s game against Iona.
- This is Wiedenfeld’s first #AEVB Rookie of the Week award of her career.
