HOUSTON — University of Houston Volleyball Head Coach Kaddie Platt announced the addition of Melissa Sims as the program’s director for operations on Monday morning.
“I am excited to welcome Melissa into the Houston Volleyball family,” Platt said. “Melissa is an incredible person who will be a great young mentor to our student-athletes. “I want to thank Kaddie for the opportunity to be a part of her staff,” Sims said. “I am excited to work with such a great coaching staff and group of student-athletes here at the University of Houston.”
In her role, Sims will assist with day-to-day operations and travel coordination as well as maintaining alumni and recruiting databases. She will also serve as the program’s liaison to the Cougars’ support staff and assist in recruiting materials for the program and on social media.
“In addition to her volleyball background, she also brings an exceptional level of creativity to our staff. She has outstanding graphic design skills that will help promote our program on social media. We are thrilled to add Melissa to the staff and are looking forward to all the ways she will contribute to the success of our program.”
Sims comes to Houston with a proven graphic design background. Most recently, she served as a graphic designer at Levi Strauss & Co. She has also worked for Ideo, Jack Morton Worldwide, and Academy Sports + Outdoors, among others.
