IBK Takes Championship Title In South Korean Women’s V League

In the women’s South Korean V League, IBK was able to win the championship over Hungkuk Pinkspiders in three matches.

The best-of-five series needed four matches to determine a victor with IBK fighting back from down 0-1 to take the series 3-1.

In the first match between the two, Hungkuk was able to take a tough five set battle over IBK 3-2, (25-13, 20-25, 25-22, 13-25, 15-13) to go ahead in the series. The second match was a four set match up with IBK stepping up to tie the championship series at 1-1. IBK fought back from a first set loss of 16-25 to take the next three sets 3-1, (16-25, 34-32, 25-23, 25-23).

The third match of the series featured another five set battle between the squads, before IBK came out strong in the fifth and deciding set to take the 2-1 lead in the series. The scores of the third match were: 3-2, (21-25, 25-20, 24-26, 25-21, 15-8).

In the final match of the series, IBK came out in a four set showing to take down Hungkuk 3-1, (26-24, 25-20, 18-25, 25-18) to take home the championships.

Overall, on the season, Hungkuk led the league with 20 wins and 10 losses, while IBK came in second in the standings with a record of 18-12.
