Brown picked up double-digit kills in both wins over Arkansas and Ole Miss, and had an attacking clip of .643 and .435, respectively. She also led the Wildcats on the defensive side of the ball, racking up seven blocks in the win over Arkansas and six in the over Ole Miss, including two block solos. For the week, Brown averaged 4.36 points, 3.29 kills and 1.86 blocks per set for Kentucky.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Ashley Dusek • Kentucky Junior • DS • 5-7 • East Bernard, Texas
Dusek racked up 54 digs this past weekend, including a season-high 31 at Ole Miss on Sunday over four sets. She is just one of two UK players to produce 30-or-more digs in the 25-point rally scoring era, and this was the fifth in her career. Dusek did not commit a reception error over the weekend, and added a season-best three aces in the win against the Rebels.
Setter of the Week:
Olivia Dailey • Kentucky Sophomore • 5-10 • Trussville, Ala.
Dailey recorded 98 assists in the wins over Ole Miss and Arkansas. She averaged 14.00 assists per set last weekend, well above her 11.76 average for the year, which currently ranks her sixth in the nation. In addition to facilitating the offense, Dailey matched a career-high six blocks at Ole Miss on Sunday, and also tossed in nine digs in the win over Arkansas.
Freshman of the Week:
Leah Edmond • Kentucky Freshman • OH • 6-0 • Lexington, Ky.
Edmond led the team in kills in both wins over Arkansas and Ole Miss last week. She produced 18 kills in each of those contests, and hit .471 in the win over Arkansas. During that win over the Razorbacks, Edmond picked up her seventh double-double of the season after adding 10 digs as well. She also had six scoops in the win over the Rebels on Sunday. On the weekend, Edmond averaged 5.71 points, 5.14 kills and 2.29 digs per set.
