Brooklynn Hill, a 5-8 libero from Rancho Cucamonga High School, has verbally committed to play volleyball at Penn State. She has 1 year of high school play remaining, and will graduate in the class of 2018.
Hill averaged 4.5 digs per set (431 digs), while also adding 67 aces and making good on 87 percent of her 488 serve reception attempts as a junior. The libero garnered honorable mention all-league and second team all-area accolades. During her sophomore season, she managed 2.9 digs per set and handled serve at a 90 percent efficiency. A 2015 PrepVolleyball Breakthrough Player, Hill led her RCHS team to the Baseline League title and CIF semifinals. Hill plays for the T-Street Volleyball Club.
Penn State’s current starting libero. Madison Wojciechowski, was only a freshman last season, meaning that barring transfer or injury the two will have at least 2 years of overlap at Penn State. with a 5 inch height advantage, though, Hill is a little more versatile than the 5’3″ Wojciechowski on what is generally a shorter Penn State roster (they have only 1 returning player, freshman middle blocker Lindsay Amrhein, listed at taller than 5’10” on their roster).
She announced her commitment on twitter.
