5’11” outside hitter Lily Felts from the K2 Volleyball Club in Knoxville, Tennessee has committed to the hometown Tennessee Volunteers. She originally committed to Georgia last July, but opened up the process again after Georgia brought in a new head coach Tom Black.
Felts is a Volunteer legay, having grown up in Knoxville and with both parents having gone there. “Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to go to Tennessee,” Felts said.
Her father, Cory, is her high school volleyball coach at Berean Christian and a coach at her K2 club, and collegiately played on the men’s club volleyball team for Tennessee. He was also a 1993 beach volleyball national championship sand tournament participant.
Felts is a 6-rotation player who was named to the Tennessee Sportswriters Association all-state team for Class A (small schools). Like her dad, she’s also spent time on the beach, having qualified with partner Alex Kirby for the National USA Volleyball Junior Beach Tour.
The high school junior hits at 120 in. and blocks at 116 in.
Tennessee is retooling after losing 8 players off its 19-woman roster from the fall.
