Belgium will need a win against France to give themselves a better chance at making the Final Six of the World League.
The Belgium crew sits at a 4-4 overall record with 14 points, and ranked fourth in the standings. Bram Van Den Dries has carried the squad throughout the competition, posting 120 points on 108 kills, eight blocks and four aces. In their second match of the third week, Belgium came out on top over Italy in four sets to put them ahead of other contenders in the competition.
France has already qualified for the Final Six that will take place in Brazil, after going undefeated in the first two weeks of play. Their first loss of the World League came to Italy on the first day of week three in five sets. Stephen Boyer has dominated for the Frenchmen, putting down 151 points on 124 kills, 12 blocks and 15 aces.
A win for Belgium will put them in a good position to qualify for the finals, while France is fighting to hold onto their first place ranking.
