Sophomore outside hitter TJ DeFalco was named MPSF/Molten Player of the Week after helping Long Beach State to a crucial split at BYU last week. DeFalco earned his third-career MPSF weekly honor after finishing the week with 38 kills on .338 hitting (38-12-77).
In the first match at BYU, DeFaclo knocked down a season-high 25 kills and picked up a season-best 14 digs for his third double-double of the year and ninth of his career.
The product out of Huntington Beach, Calif., came back the following night and led the Beach with 13 kills in a three-set sweep of the Cougars.
In addition, DeFalco finished the series with 18 digs, five blocks, two assists, a pair of service aces and 42.5 points.
DeFalco and the Beach will be back in action on Friday, March 31, when they host Concordia (Irvine) in a non-conference contest at 7 p.m. inside the Walter Pyramid.
