After two years at LSU, Brittany Welsh will return home to Southern California as has transferred into USC. She joined the team in the spring as they travelled for the Summer European Tour.
In her time in Baton Rouge, the 6-4 middle blocker played in 18 matches collecting 31 kills and 24 total blocks. She had a career high of nine kills and hit .438 in her freshman year against Florida. In her college debut at a University of Texas tournament, she had six block assists against Rice.
The Newport Beach, California native played her prep career at Mater Dei High School for coaches Adam Cuttrel and Dan O’Dell. Highlights of her time there include advancing to the regional finals of the CIF State Tournament and placing first in the league. She was awarded All-CIF First Team in her senior year along with being an All-County selection. One of her former high school teammates was her new Trojan teammate outside Alyse Ford.
Welsh has already played with USC on their European tour in May, which included 3 blocks against Iceland and 4 blocks against USC.
Welsh will join a USC team that returns 11 letterwinners and that made it to the NCAA tournament.
