BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Allie Barber, Marquette, So., OH (Cedarburg, Wis.)
Offensive Player of the Week Allie Barber led the league in kills per set (4.80) and points per set (5.40) en route to a 2-1 week for Marquette which included straight set wins over Milwaukee and Southern Mississippi and a four-set loss to then-No. 5 Wisconsin. Barber hit at a .339 clip while also adding 1.20 blocks per set and 0.50 digs per set to her stat line. Barber had 21 kills at then-No. 5 Wisconsin, helping Marquette become the first team to win a set from the Badgers.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Anna Logan, Butler, Jr., OH (Indianapolis, Ind.)
Butler junior outside hitter Anna Logan was awarded MVP honors for her performance against Evansville, Duquesne and Ball State in Butler and Ball State’s shared tournament. Logan helped the Bulldogs go undefeated proving 4.27 digs per set in addition to 2.82 kills per set and 3.55 points per set. She provided 16 digs against the Purple Aces for a Butler sweep. She followed her efforts with a double-double against Duquesne with 14 digs, 17 kills. In the five-set finale win over co-host Ball State, Logan posted 17 digs with 14 kills and five blocks. Logan had seven blocks for the week and helped Butler lead the league in the following defensive stats: Kills allowed (10.00), hitting percentage allowed (.082), blocks allowed (1.09) and assists allowed (8.82).
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Natalie Ravenell, Butler, Fr. OH (Westfield, Ind.)
Natalie Ravenell earned Butler-Ball State All-Tournament honors for Butler with three impressive performances to average 2.86 points, 2.27 kills, 1.0 blocks and 2.27 digs per set. In the sweep of Evansville, the freshman posted eight kills, 11 digs and two blocks. In Butler’s straight-set win over Duquesne, Ravenell had seven kills and seven digs. She hit .375 in the five-set win over Ball State, claiming 10 kills and seven digs while providing Butler with six block. Ravenell had 11 total blocks for the week.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Brittany Witt, Creighton, So., L (Omaha, Neb.)
Witt averaged 4.33 digs per set as Creighton met Wichita State and No. 19 Iowa State in the Shocker Volleyball Classic. Witt had a season-best 20 digs vs. the Shockers and 19 with two aces against Iowa State.
Haley Bueser, DePaul, Sr., DS/L (Westmont, Ill.)
Bueser had the second highest digs per set stat for the week with 4.71, helping DePaul to a 4-0 week and a tournament title against Loyola-Chicago, Saint Louis, Louisiana Tech and Little Rock. Bueser also added five aces. Bueser was named to the all-tournament team.
Martha Konovodoff, Marquette, Fr., DS (Sugar Grove, Ill.)
Konovodoff led the league in digs per set with 4.80 en route to a 2-1week for Marquette. Konovodoff had weekly high of 18 digs for MU in their four-set loss to then-No. 5 Wisconsin.
Remy Fairchild, Villanova, So., OH (Southlake, Texas)
Provided a spark off the bench at Lehigh and into the starting line up against Temple to average 3.92 points, 3.67 kills, 3.17 digs per set in a 1-1 week for Villanova. Fairchild also hit .333 in 48 swipes.
Kristen Massa, Xavier, Sr., OH (Cincinnati, Ohio)
Averaged 4.20 points per set with 3.73 kills per set as XU went 1-2 at the Colorado State Tournament. She eclipsed the 1,000-career kill mark in the four set win over Albany. Massa added 2.18 digs and 1.00 blocks per set to her statline.
