High school recruit Melia Lindner has made her intentions clear as she plans on attending LSU in the fall of 2018. A 6’0″ middle blocker/opposite on the indoor side, Lindner will play on the beach team at LSU for the 2018-2019 season.

The right-handed hitting Lindner is from Florida and currently plays for Choctawhatchee High School. She totaled 190 kills, 133 digs, 59 blocks and 43 aces as a junior this past season on a team that went 23-3 and reached the quarterfinal round of the Florida 7A state tournament. In total, she’s been a part of an Indian team that has gone 60-17 over the past three seasons in her high school career. She also participates with the Emerald Coast Volleyball Club in Shalimar, Florida.

Lindner will also play in three national tournaments this summer: the USAV National Championship in Siesta Key, the AAU Junior Olympics in California and the Rox National Championships in Georgia.

LSU finished the 2017 Beach season at 27-8 before bowing out in the NCAA Championships and ending the year ranked sixth. It was the second straight 20-win season for the Tigers.
