Millburn High School Coach Charged With Molesting Player

The head volleyball coach at Millburn High School in New Jersey, Peter Nguyen, 50, has been charged with molesting a teen.

It was reported by authorities that Nguyen engaged in sexual acts with a 14-year-old girl after giving her alcohol. The teen was a player of Millburn High School as well as the club that Nguyen coached at – Impact Volleyball Club in Rahway. Additionally, he was the bookkeeper for the Millburn Board of Education.

He was reported twice to taking the girl back to his home where he served her alcohol and inappropriately touched her. The investigation into Nguyen came after the victim’s parents notified authorities at the Woodridge Police Department.

Nguyen has been charged with two second-degree counts of endangering the welfare of a child, one for the alleged sexual contact and one for allegedly providing alcohol to a minor. He has also been charged with a third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact charge.

Nguyen had been coaching at Millburn and Impact Volleyball Club for nearly three years.

He is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center.
