Mississippi State Snags Commit From 2021 MB/OH Sania Petties

Class of 2021 middle blocker and pin (listed both as an outside hitter or right side among different sites) Sania Petties has verbally committed to join the Mississippi State University women’s volleyball program.

Petties is in her sophomore campaign now at Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Texas. It’s her second season of varsity after she notched 140 kills (1.6 per set) on a .307 mark, 93 digs (1.1 per set), 36 blocks (0.4 per set) and 33 aces (0.4 per set) as a freshman according to her MaxPreps profile.

So far this season, for a team that is 28-5, she has recorded 98 kills (1.2 per set) on a .259 clip, 43 digs (0.5 per set), 31 blocks (0.4 per set) and 4 aces (0.1 per set).

Standing at 6’1″, Petties plays for Houston Skyline Juniors and the 16 Royal team on the club side of things. Mississippi State is off to a 4-9 start to the 2018 season under new head coach Julie Darty. Last year they finished 10-23 and 1-17 as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
