2018 FIVB World Tour – Montpellier

The 2018 FIVB World Tour season is upon us just weeks after the World Tour finals and just days into September. First up on the list is a one-star event in Montpellier, France. This is the first time that Montpellier will host a World Tour event but is a culmination of the 13th edition of the Montpellier Beach Masters that will occur from September 2-9.

The tournament will feature a single elimination qualification round on September 7 with the Round of 16 following on September 8. The semifinals and finals will take place on September 9.

There will be around 45 teams that will come to the country, ranging from 24 different countries. 12 of the top teams will be moved directly to the Round of 16, while the remaining will fight for a place in the qualification round.

Heading into the tournament as a front runner are Norwegian pair Anders Berntsen Mol/Christian Sandlie Sorum, as they recently won the CEV Ljubljana Masters in July. Nearly a year ago they dominated at the U22 European Championship as the title winners.
