Last Time Out
In its last outing, NC State battled for a 3-2 victory on the road at Florida State. The Wolfpack trailed 2-1 in the match and overcame a five-point deficit in the fourth set to earn the win.
It was the first time NC State has won back-to-back matches against the Seminoles since 1995, as the Wolfpack earned the program’s first top-10 victory at Florida State last season.
Kearney Reaches 1,000 Career Kills
NC State senior Kaitlyn Kearney surpassed 1,000 career kills last Friday at Miami with her sixth kill of the night in the third set. She becomes the 13th player in program history to join the 1,000-kill club.
The Frisco, Texas, native is also one of four active student-athletes with at least 1,000 career kills and 500 career blocks. Kearney is only player in the ACC with the distinction.
NC State Among Nation’s Elite
With Kearney reaching 1,000 career kills, NC State joins an elite group as only the Wolfpack and top-ranked Penn State have three players on its roster with 1,000 or more kills.
Brown Takes Over at the Top
Senior outside hitter Julia Brown broke the rally-scoring era program record for career kills in last Friday’s match at Miami. She now owns 1,209 kills, which is the seventh most all-time in Wolfpack history.
That total is also the third most by an active player in the ACC.
