Nebraska Stuns #11 Arizona State In Thursday Upset (3/23/17)

Of the six matches played on Thursday, Nebraska stunned us all with a 3-2 upset over #11 Arizona State.

The Huskers have been struggling on the beach this spring, having only one more match of their season to go – looking to improve from 3-7. The early 2-1 lead in the match went to Arizona State as the top two seed were able to sweep the Huskers, with the lone Nebraska point coming from the #4 seed in Mikaela Foecke and Kenzie Maloney with a three set win 2-1, (14-21, 21-17, 15-11). Nebraska nabbed the win with victories at the #3 and #5 positions.

Grand Canyon was able to swoop in a take the second match of the day from the Huskers in a 4-1 decision.

#2 Pepperdine continues to roll through their opponents, completing the overall sweep on the evening against Colorado Mesa and CSUN 5-0. CSUN was able to turn the loss around to a 4-1 victory over Colorado Mesa.

Another 5-0 win came to St. Mary’s over San Francisco.
