Title Appearance Has UCLA Feeling Special, Grateful, Excited
UCLA coach John Speraw said had high praise for Saturday’s foe, Long Beach State. “This is a great team we are going to play. That’s what we want. Shoot, you want to play the best team at the end and we are going to have an opportunity to go do that. We are excited and we are going to go play as hard as we can.”
1991 National Champions are Coming Together to Support 2018 LBSU Team
Twenty-seven years ago, before any of the players on the 2018 Long Beach State men’s volleyball team were even born, a core group of players hit the hardwood inside the Gold Mine and won a program-record 31 matches en route to bringing home a National Championship. On Saturday, with the season on the line, the 1991 Long Beach State National Champion Men’s Volleyball team will be there, cheering on the Beach.

MPSF Player of the Year Wieczorek Headlines MPSF All-Academic Honorees
Player of the Year David Wieczorek from Pepperdine is among the 29 MPSF All-Academic honorees. Wieczorek and four other first-team MPSF selections: setter Micah Ma’a (UCLA), outside hitter Jack Wyett (USC), middle blocker Price Jarman (BYU) and setter Leo Durkin (BYU) also garnered All-Academic accolades.
