Revivre Milano‘s Nimir Abdel-Aziz is expected to re-sign with the team for the next year according to the team’s president, Lucio Fusaro.

Fusaro says that negotiations have been completed with a new contract drawn up for the Dutch superstar. A signature and a meeting with Abdel-Aziz’s attorney is the next step to getting the team’s leading player to stay.

This is Abdel-Aziz’s first season with Revivre Milano who currently sits in 6th place in the league with a 12-10 record. The addition of Abdel-Aziz to the roster has turned the club completely around from last season as the team went 5-21 during the 2016-17 season, finishing in last place in the league.

So far this season, Abdel-Aziz has scored 413 points for Revivre Milano this season but went down with an abdominal injury in the team’s match against Bunge Ravenna. Since then, Abdel-Aziz has sat out and is not expected to return to the court anytime soon. Despite the injury, he is still the team’s leading scorer for the year with his 22.9 points per game and 6.07 points per set average.

The team will have to continue chipping away at their remaining opponents to remain in the top-8 of the league that moves onto the playoffs stage of the season.
