GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – North Carolina outside hitter Taylor Leath and NC State outside hitter Julia Brown share this week’s ACC Volleyball Player of the Week award, whereas Duke right-side hitter Samantha Amos took home Freshman of the Week honors.

Leath and Brown are two-time Player of the Week honorees this season, and this is Amos’s first Freshman of the Week nod.
Leath helped No. 12 North Carolina earn a pair of wins over the weekend, which included topping No. 10 Florida State in Tallahassee, 3-2. The redshirt sophomore led the team in hitting percentage in both matches, recording a .360 against the Seminoles and .364 against Miami, where she only made one error.  She recorded her seventh double-double of the season on Sunday, racking up 26 kills and 13 digs. The Pennsylvania native totaled 35 kills, five blocks, two aces and a .361 hitting percentage across the two ACC road wins.
Brown and Wolfpack also picked up a pair of wins over No. 10 Florida State (3-2) and Miami (3-1).
The junior recorded her 12th double-double of the season (21 kills, 13 digs) in last Friday’s five-set thriller over the Seminoles, which marked the program’s first-ever victory over a top-10 opponent. She was a contributor to NC State’s passing game as she did not have a reception error on 21 serve-receive attempts. At the end of play, the North Carolina native averaged 4.44 points per set, 4.33 kills per set and 1.78 digs per set.
Amos recorded back-to-back career highs in kills as she aided the Blue Devils to their fourth consecutive win. The freshman registered 15 kills, five blocks, two digs and a .520 hitting percentage in the win over Louisville. She then re-established her career-high kill mark against Notre Dame, recording 16. Amos averaged 4.43 kills per set, 1.14 blocks per set and a .349 hitting percentage over the weekend.
