Class of 2020 recruit Tria McLean has committed to the Ohio University women’s volleyball program. A 5’10” setter, McLean would join the Bobcats for the fall of 2020.
McLean will be a junior come the fall semester at Battle Creek High School in Nebraska. In her sophomore season in 2017 she helped the team to a 21-11 record.
Individually, according to her MaxPreps profile, she recorded 419 assists (5.0 per set), 157 kills (1.9 per set), 149 digs (1.8 per set), 43 blocks (0.5 per set) and 26 aces (0.3 per set). She also has lettered with the basketball team.
On the club circuit, McLean plays with Nebraska Elite Volleyball and the 161 team. Several video highlights of her play can be seen here via her recruiting profile on SportsRecruits.
Although it’s not another class of 2020 commit, Ohio has another future recruit in the wings as well. Class of 2019 middle blocker/outside hitter Caitlin O’Farrell is another for the Bobcats that has been registered in the VolleyMob Recruiting Database.
Ohio finished the 2017 season at 16-14 overall and 11-5 as a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC).
I am VERY excited to announce that I have committed to play volleyball at Ohio University! I cannot thank my family, friends, coaches & teammates enough for helping me get to where I am today.
