Ohio State’s Taylor Sandbothe has been named the AVCA National Player of the Week.

The honor comes after she led the Ohio State Buckeyes over then-#1 Nebraska Huskers on Sunday. The Buckeyes have now won 4 of 5 matches against Nebraska – as much success as any program in the country in that period.

In Sunday’s big match, she hit .346 on 12 kills, with 9 blocks and 2 aces to boot – including 5 blocks in the decisive 4th frame.

Ohio State also swept Northwestern at home on Wednesday, where Sandbothe had 13 kills and 5 blocks.

The Buckeyes’ schedule doesn’t get any easier next week, as they roll through Michigan with road contests against Michigan State and Michigan, before they welcome in Nebraska for a rematch of Sunday’s showdown.
