Pac-12 Networks is set to air 87 live women’s volleyball matchups this fall, in its sixth season of coverage. The action begins on Friday, Aug. 25 with a doubleheader as defending Pac-12 Champion Washington, led by 2016 Pac-12 Player of the Year Courtney Schwan, hosts Pittsburgh at 6 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. MT on Pac-12 Networks, followed by USC with a home matchup against Michigan at 8 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. MT.
Reigning NCAA Champion Stanford returns to the court against Pacific at home in its first live-televised matchup on the Networks on Friday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. MT. The Cardinal will appear on the Networks 17 times in 2017, eight at home, including its first conference match against California on Wednesday, Sept. 20. Stanford will look to defend its national champion title and break a tie with Penn State as both currently hold seven national championships, the most by a single program.
Pac-12 women’s volleyball will continue to headline the primetime lineup on Wednesdays with the each Wednesday night match airing nationally on Pac-12 Network. Each Pac-12 University will appear on the Networks at least 12 times in 2017, anchored by Stanford and Washington with 17 appearances and followed by UCLA and Utah with 15 each.
Building off momentum from last season as women’s volleyball helped the Conference of Champions become the first conference with 500 NCAA team titles, Pac-12 teams are gearing up for another banner year in what is set to be an exciting and competitive season. Pac-12 women’s volleyball teams boast a record 15 NCAA titles, including 13 of the last 25. Pac-12 teams have also had 10-or-more All-American selections in seven of the last nine years with 12 AVCA Player of the Year honors.
